Sting Fling

Landri and I got up at 5:30 on Saturday to head to Azle for a day of fun! We started by picking up our good friend (and Landri's teacher) Tiffany and we went to the run/walk event. Our plan was to do the 1 mile walk. But we were persuaded by some friends to do the 5K! Needless to say, we laughed A LOT, took turns pushing Landri, and finished LAST! =) But we had a great time! Then we headed to the parade for some candy. Tiffany and I decided that we should get one of the flu shots they were giving out. We shopped the booths, Landri got a personal tour of the fire trucks, visited with old friends, and saw MANY of my kids from school. Landri had a great time in the bounce slide! She would not get in the bounce house but loved to climb up and go down the slide. Our P.E. teacher, Dee Suratt, was the volunteer from our school to get in the dunk booth! You should have seen how many kids were lined up to get a chance. It was awesome! After that, we decided since we hadn't eaten all morning we should get lunch. We loaded up and went down the street to El Paseo......We had such a great time with Tiffany! Landri and I came home and took naps! What a day of fun!

Look for.....pics from our photo shoot with Cheryl and next weekend's trip to the zoo with Sarah and Owen! =)

Grey's Anatomy

Well the season premiere has come and gone.......And I am still not sure about Meredith and Derek! Together, not together? I mean it seems that they are moving in together.....Who knows......Can't they just get together and be happy and move on! I am addicted to this show even thought it can drive me crazy at times! Did we discover that Cristina might actually have a heart? And Callie and Hann.....a whole 'nother adventure! YIKES! What a season to come! Now I have Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sister to look forward to on Sunday! YEAH!

Landri and I are going to meet our friend, Tiffany, on Saturday morning in Azle to do the 1st Annual Sting Fling 1 mile walk and then enjoy the day at the festival! Ryan is working so some girl time will be fun.....Hopefully I will see some old friends and take some pictures!

Reading.....

So after being sick for about 6 days, I am finally feeling better.....I did miss school on Friday to go to the doctor....I got an antibiotic and it seems to be helping. Mom and Dad were here for a visit this weekend. It was nice to just lay around and do nothing for a change......I did pick up a good book recommended by a good friend. (Thanks Sarah!) And I managed to read the entire book (500 pages) in about 3 days! WOW! I can't remember the last time I have done that.....It was a really good book.......Not at all what I thought it was going to be, but great just the same...I can't wait to read the remaining books in the series......I am hooked! =)

Wanting to be back......

Most of you know me.....and know me well.....So you know I am a 2nd grade teacher in my hometown of Azle. I, like many others, couldn't wait to leave Azle and NEVER come back......Well it seems like now all I can think about is getting back! Of course I already work in Azle but I drive from Keller every morning....Now with Landri being 2, that is a little crazy! We have officially put the For Sale sign in the yard...But we our currect economy who knows how long it could be! Maybe the right person will just come along......

As for my job it has its up and downs, just like life....But it is great to know that I am surrounded by close friends, co-workers, parents, and wonderful kids! I should say SUPER kids! All 21 of them are mine for the year......It is funny how they all become yours.....their accomplishments make you smile while their personal heartaches make you hurt too.....I got the chance today to spend just a little one on one time with each kid in my class while giving them a state assessment. Some of my kids shocked me with their abilities, some performed as I expected, and still others have a long way to go.....But with pride I can honestly say, they are all mine.....Just for a school year....But hopefully they will always have a place for me in their hearts.....I know they will/do in mine!

A New Addiction.....

Well I have a new habit......A girl that I went to high school with has started making bows! Landri already has LOTS of bows hanging in her closet. But none are as cute as these! Christen does a great job and can make anything you ask for. So I am addicted! Every time I look at her website she has something new and adorable. I have already received my 1st order and LOVE them....I am placing another ASAP for Halloween and Christmas. Her prices are reasonable...I have seen the same time bows for the same or more at places around here....She actually lives in Missouri but ships anywhere. She is fast too....I got mine in about 3-4 days! It is great to actually know someone that can do this! SOOOOO if you have a little girl, know a little girl, or ever plan on having one...=)....check out her website.....www.ticklemepinkbowtique.com.
