Another Ice Day......

What a week! We woke up yesterday assuming we were going to school and then we got "THE" call to stay home. It turns out the day was fine and we SHOULD have gone yesterday! The ice and sleet came late last night. SOOOOOOOO, last night at about 9:30 we got the message that we would be starting school at 10:00 this morning. But the weather and road conditions were worse than expected and Landri and I are home again! It is great to stay home now but I will be wishing we didn't on Good Friday and the last Friday of school since we will now have school then!
Yesterday Landri and I enjoyed the day at home...except for the LOTS of whining that she did! Today we will do the same....Ryan went to work but is leaving a little early so that we can go visit the Garcia (Jessica Brace) twins, Olivia and Gabrielle! They were born by c-section yesterday afternoon. I haven't talked to her but did get a text from her sis-in-law that they were all doing fine! YEAH!

Have to share what Landri just told me.......Let me start by stating that we are both in our pj's with long sleeves over them since it is cold! "Mommy, I am worried about this" (pointing to my shirt). "Why are you worried?" Landri "Because this and this don't match!" =)

Things We Did on Our Ice Days:
- Decorated a princess mirror (Thanks Cooper and Carson!)
- Ate snacks (Landri needed MANY of these throughout the day)
- played in the tent
- washed clothes
- took a nap
- watched TV and a movie
- played about 8 games of Memory
- dressed baby dolls
- made chili
- colored and played with play-doh
- asked (Landri) and answered (me) about a million questions!
- looked for ideas for Landri's birthday party
- tried to find a place for summer vacation in Colorado

Tomorrow it will be back to school and we will try to play catch up from the last 2 days! AHHHHHHHHH!

City Girl Gone Country! (for a day)

Since it is Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo time in Fort Worth, Landri's class at school has been learning about cowboys, cowgirls, and the rodeo. On Friday to celebrate they had their own Rodeo Day! The started the day by walking through the halls of the "big" school to show off their rodeo clothes and hats! It was too cute! They all looked so big! For lunch, they had hot dogs, chips, and goodies. After naptime, they ended the day by having a barrel race on the playground! We happened to be at recess at that time so we got to watch them! Landri wasn't sure at first but then after she saw others do it......she was in! We do need to thank Claire for letting us borrow a "Cowgirl" shirt to wear! We didn't really have one! Also, thanks to Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Beverly for being such good teachers and having fun with our kids!

One Funny Guy......

If you want to laugh 'til your cheeks hurt and your eyes are watering, you need to see Tim Hawkins! A few of the great girls that I work with found out about this guy and last night we had plans to go see him in Fort Worth. What a great time! Tim Hawkins is a Christian comedian and he is hilariously funny! You can watch some of his stuff on his website. www.timhawkins.net

We actually discovered that he will be coming to Azle in Sept of this year. I will definitely be going again! So if he is ever in your area, go see him!

Coming soon: Landri's Rodeo Day at school

Could it be? Another Landri?

Last weekend we had everyone (Mams, Granddad, Marky, and Grandmary) at our house! It was sooooo much fun. I was busy with Cheryl's baby shower and everyone else got to stay at entertain Landri! On Sunday, we went to Dallas to a family birthday party. It was for our cousin Johnny (actually Grandmary's cousin's husband). It was a great chance for us all to get together and have fun!
Well, it turns out that in the same family we have another Landry(that's how she spells hers)! We did figure out that they would be 6th cousins! =) Landry is just about 3 months older than our Landri. It took awhile for them to warm up to each other. Of course, when it was time to go.....they were ready to play! Don't they looked thrilled to be taking a picture! Neither one of them would look and smile at the same time! You can also tell by our Landri's eyes that she hasn't had a nap!

The weekend before this one Landri and I got to go to 2 baby showers! The first one was from a friend from high school. Ironically, we found each other again when her daughter started kindergarten at my school. And she is now in my 2nd grade class! Amanda's shower was wonderful! Little Haleigh Ann is due in about 5 weeks! =)
Then on Sunday we headed to another baby shower! This one was for one of my best friends ever! Jessica (Brace) Garcia! It is funny that I still refer to her as Jessica Brace....I guess some things never change! She had a great shower and got LOTS of gifts! I also got to see some ol' friends from high school and their kids! Good time had by all! Landri was so good and enjoyed going with me so much! I thinkg she liked the cake best!

YEAH! She did it!

Well I am glad to report that Landri is driving the Barbie Jeep! =) Santa delivered it on Christmas morning and although she was very excited about it, she hadn't really wanted to drive it yet! She loved sitting in it, putting her babies in it, and turning on the radio. But as for actually moving it, she wasn't a fan! So last Friday (when the weather was 80+), I talked her into driving it as soon as Ryan got home from work! With a little steering help, she made it to the corner and back! YEAH! Then today (when it is barely 40 degrees), she asked to get it out again! At first we thought too cold, then we decided if she wants to drive it....we aren't missing out on the opportunity! So she spent about 20 minutes outside, before we all got too cold! Lucky loves to bark and chase her around the backyard! So yeah for Landri! We were about to think Santa could have saved a lot of cash and brought her a big wheel! But she came through!

Well it is back to school tomorrow! Of course they are predicting a chance of freezing rain in the morning! Only is Texas can you wear shorts one day and need 3 layers the next!
