We took Landri and Tyler (a friend's son) to the Rangers game last night....We had a good time even though the Rangers were terrible! I think they lose every time we go! Landri and Tyler enjoyed playing in the kids' park, eating $1.00 hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream, and going in the gift shop! Of course there was LOTS of laughter too! Tyler is really good with Landri! She loves to talk, talk, and talk to him and then climb all over him! It is too cute! Landri really enjoyed watching the game and asked MANY questions about the players and what they were doing! I guess she is going to be a sports fan like the rest of the family!

We also finished up swimming lessons this morning. I am sure that the pool was really cold after all the rain we had last night. But of course she got right in. She can now jump in and swim to the side. It isn't pretty but she can do it!

Since my school is still under construction (until Aug 10th) Which only gives me a week to move everything back in before inservice! Plus, Jennifer is set to have Cainlee that week..so it will be crazy those 2 weeks......So to end our summer Landri and I are going to visit Grandmary this weekend and do some sewing on school stuff. Then we are headed to San Antonio next week for a few days! YEAH! School will be here soon! Landri is ready to see all her friends and have fun! I am anxious to get the year started after moving stuff back in and redecorating it all!

Summer Fun with Friends

Landri and I love to get together with friends during the summer and have fun. We met Jennifer, Claire, Kristi, and Tyler today for lunch at Chick-Fil-A and then headed to the Saginaw Waterpark. It looked like rain but never did.....The clouds were nice but then the sun broke out and it was HOT! The kids had a great time. Landri loves to play with Tyler......He takes care of her like a big brother! And of course Landri and Claire had fun as always.....They are so funny! Landri fell asleep on the way home and will be out for a long nap I am sure!

Cousin Time

We went to Goldthwaite this past weekend to see Ryan's parents and Landri's cousins.....So loves to play with the kids. We had a great time at Chad and Regina's house with Allison, Quaid, and Macy. They live on LOTS of land with lots of animals. So Landri enjoys being a "country" girl for awhile. She got on the horses with Allison and Macy. And played basketball with Quaid. On Sunday, we all got together. She got to play a little while with Trenton and Trey too. It was really hot, but fun to be together.

Ryan and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on July 12th. It seems like it has gone by so fast! We are so lucky to have found each other at Tarleton. I looked back at our wedding album today......we were so happy to have all our friends and family share that day with us. I also realized that I have no digital pictures from our wedding....only the real photos....so I had to scan this one in! I remember everything about our wedding day.....The beauty shop with all the girls, the photos, my parents, the songs, and our vows. We had a wonderful time at our reception too! Ryan and I left the following day for a cruise to Cozumel and Cancun......So much fun! Can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries together! =)

Almost 20 years later......

Almost 20 years ago (gosh that already makes me sound old!), my family moved to Wills Point, Texas. My dad became the high school basketball coach, my mom worked as a school secretary, I started 3rd grade, and Mark started pre-school........WOW, how things have changed! But old friends are always the same! I met a life-long friend that year, Cathy (Lamb) Wilcoxson. We enjoyed MANY great times together growing up in a small town. We were so sad to leave each other when we moved to Azle 5 years later. We spent ALL our time together from after school to sports to church....we were always together. It was hard to leave a best friend.....But even after all those years, we are still good friends....through high school and college graduations, weddings, kids, and lots of other stuff we still remained close. Even those miles and sometimes time came between us, we could always find each other. We talk every few months and see each other once or twice a year now, but I still love her like I did 20 years ago! It is an awesome thing to know that you have known someone that long!
Today we had our annual summer meeting.....it used to be the two of us and our moms meeting to shop, then it was the just the two of us meeting to see a movie and have lunch, and NOW it is us and our kids meeting to play! We met Cathy, Abby, and Hayden at Incredible Pizza in Mesquite. The kids had a great time and we enjoyed chasing them around and catching up. Abby looks just like her and I can't believe the little man that Hayden has become. Landri loved playing with them and really wanted to go home with them! =) We are making plans to see each other again soon. We always say that is has been too long and we should do it more.....but that usually doesn't happen! We both get busy.....BUT we should make more time to get together and let our kids make wonderful memories like we did as kids!

Family Vacation

Our summer vacation to Taos, New Mexico was last week and we had a great time! Although it didn't start our the way we had planned....We (Mom, Dad, Mark, Ryan, Landri, and I) got to Grandmary's house on Saturday afternoon. Of course she had dinner fixed for us and it was yummy! But then Grandmary wasn't feeling very good and that isn't like her at all. Mom took her to the ER to get checked out. They kept her 2 nights for observation which was until the morning we were scheduled to leave........SO Dad, Mark, Ryan, Landri, and I headed to NM early Monday morning. Grandmary had to have a few tests on Tuesday and then she was given the OK for her and mom to come and join us. We are so thankful that Grandmary is great and that we all got to be together!

Monday night we stopped in Santa Fe for the night. We enjoyed eating pizza at a rooftop restaurant and walking around town. Tuesday morning we headed out to "the Big house" (in Landri's words). After wasting some time in Taos, visiting a pueblo, going to the store, and enjoying some ice cream.....we headed to our retreat! It was incredible! The house was nice and big with lots of room for all of us. The kitchen was great! It had a covered porch with a hot tub. And our backyard was the Rio Grade River. It was so relaxing. Wednesday morning we all enjoyed a hiking trail across from our house. Landri did great! For a 3-year-old, she was an excellent hiker. Thursday we will extra lazy and stayed around the house doing nothing but playing games, swimming, sleeping, and eating! Friday we went into Taos to shop. Landri chose a pink cowgirl hat from Mams and Granddad, a t-shirt and bracelet from Grandmary, and a stuffed horse, Fluffy Sparks, from Mom and Dad! Ryan made a great campfire and we made Smores on our last night. It was great to be outside at the campfire with the river flowing right beside us! We sure hated to leave the beautiful scenery and good times to return to reality! Landri was the BEST traveler! She never complained about being in the car and was actually VERY entertaining! She did say a few times "Are we there yet?" =) Uncle Mark and Landri were BIG buds on this trip. He is so patient and plays so great with her. At one point, Landri talked him into putting lotion in his hair and letting her fix it! Too funny! We have already talked of making plans to go back again soon! You can check out the place we stayed at www.riogranderetreat.com

We have another busy summer week ahead......Landri starts swimming lessons again for the next 2 weeks, a dentist appointment, a visit with a ol' friend and her kids, and a trip to Goldthwaite on Saturday.......Maybe we will take a few days off before school starts again!

4th of July Weekend

WARNING: This blog contains LOTS of pictures! =)

We had a great 4th of July weekend in SA! We shopped, ate good mexican food, and had lots of good laughs! We watched the Nathan's hot dog eating contest of course....Dad and Ryan think it it is so awesome! It actually makes me want to gag! Then we had hot dogs of course for lunch too. We just watched fireworks on tv this year.....it was hot and crowded everywhere else! Enjoy the pics!

Landri's San Antonio Vacation

Landri had a great time in SA with Mams, Granddad, and Marky. I think she was pretty much in charge for a week! She slept in the king size bed with either Mams or Granddad every night. She watched movies and had meals in bed! She went to Incredible Pizza, the library, the park, and anywhere else she wanted! She was quite sad to leave......who wouldn't be! Luckily we only have to be away from them for a week before we all go on vacation to Taos!

Happy Birthday Owen!

Last weekend we went to Temple to Owen's 2nd birthday party! It was hot but fun! I started thinking as I was writing this about how long I have known Owen's mommy, Sarah. It must be close to nine years! WOW! We met my 1st semester at Tarleton and became friends right away. Then we were roommates too......Lots of great memories! It is always fun to get together and see each other. We decided that we would see each other again soon.....somewhere cool and where we could visit more! Owen got a great scooter for his birthday that ALL the kids loved and lots of other neat gifts! The kids really liked the water and playing with each other. Every time Landri sees a picture of Owen she says "I love Owen....he is so cute!" =)
